Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!  My name is Ms. Stephanie Pinta and I am going to be your child’s 6th grade teacher. I am thrilled to be teaching sixth grade at Riley, and looking forward to becoming acquainted with everyone. I would now like to take this opportunity to share with you a few things about myself, both personally and professionally.

This is my seventeenth year teaching.  I have previously taught a third/fourth grade and a first/second grade multi-age class setting at Garfield, and first and second grade classes at Cass and Garfield Elementary in Livonia. This is my eighth year teaching at Riley. I received my Bachelor degree from Eastern Michigan in 2000, receiving a minor in math and science. In August 2004, I completed a Master’s program through Marygrove College, receiving my Master’s degree.

Teaching is a goal and desire I have had since I was very young.  To be in the position to educate young minds is very gratifying for me.  My mission as a teacher is to motivate my students to be the best they can be.  I will strive to encourage my students to set goals, and inspire them to achieve each one while modeling that learning can be fun, exciting, and beneficial to their everyday lives.  By displaying a positive learning environment where students are set up to succeed, each student will know that I believe in their ability to do whatever they set their minds to!

My teaching partners this school year are  Mrs. Shanna Ramsey and Ms. Jeanette Rusch. We are going to be working as a team this year, sharing our 6th grade students for math, science and social studies.  As a parent or guardian, you are the most important person in your child’s life; therefore, we need to work together as a team to ensure the best possible education for your child.  I am looking forward to getting to know all of you throughout the school year.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at any time.  The fastest way to get in touch is through email,  The phone number at Riley is (734) 744-2680 and my extension is 70575, however I do not check my voicemail each day.

We are going to have a great year!!!!
